Bruce 'Shu Shu' Carrington Enters The New WBA Rankings at #1

Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington (12-0 8KO’s) has been promoted to #1 in the new WBA featherweight ranking posted on June 30, 2024. The Brownsville Brooklyn native has

ascended within the ranks in the past 16 months. Carrington is currently ranked in

the top 15 in all four major sanction bodies WBA #1, WBO & WBC #3, IBF #11.

Carrington has stopped his last three opponents with the most recent stoppage against late replacement Brayan De Gracia on June 8th.

Nick Ball (20-0-1 11KO’s) won the WBA featherweight title on June 1st by defeating Raymond Ford in a razor close split decision contest. On March 8th Ball fought Rey Vargas for the WBC title. The fight ending with a controversial split draw. Many ringside observers believed Ball won the fight. The Liverpool native, has a claim as the number one fighter at the featherweight division.

Ball-Carrington seems like the next fight based on the updated WBA rankings.

Politically, this fight should be easy to make. Ball is promoted by Queensbury and

Carrington is promoted by Top Rank.
