Erik Bazinyan (29-0 21KOs) defeat Jose de Jesus Macias (28-11-4 14KOs) by unanimous decision in a super middleweight bout at Casino de Montreal in Montreal, Canada. This event was streamed live on ESPN+.
Official scores were 97-93 98-92 twice for Bazinyan. This was a good back and forth fight with many changes if momentum. Macias broke through in the 7th round by hurting Bazinyan with a big right hand along the ropes. Bazinyan survived the round but was visibly effected by that shot for the rest of the fight. Both fighters battled and fought hard down the stretch. Bazinyan retains his NABA and NABF Super Middleweight titles.
Undercard Results:
Steve Claggett (35-7-2, 25KOs) scored a third round TKO victory over the faded former world champion Alberto Machado (23-4, 19 KOs). Claggett dominated the pace of the fight by implying alot of pressure and inside work which led to three knockdowns in fight before Machado's corner threw in the towel.
Avery Martin Duval (10-0-1, 6 KOs) stopped Andres Sanchez Ramirez (6-7-3, 2 KOs) in the third round of the junior lightweight contest.
Thomas Chabot (9-0, 7 KOs) earned a close split decision victory over Luis Bolanos Lopez (4-3-1). Scores were 78-74 ,77-75 for Chabot and 77-75 for Lopez.
Alexandre Gaumont (8-0, 6 KOs) took out Poland’s Piotr Bis (6-3-1, 2 KOs) in the second round of their middleweight bout.
