GBM Sports have today announced a monster full card for ‘Nowhere To Hide’ at Canon Medical Arena, Sheffield on Friday 27th September.
Promoter Izzy Asif builds on an incredible and unprecedented debut year. Building his reputation for showcasing and signing elite talent, in 50/50 match-ups, in entertaining nights of boxing around the country. They quickly garnered the attention of talkSPORT signing a multi-fight deal with the broadcaster, before signing their first TV deal with streaming giant DAZN.
Hughie Fury (28-3) continues a great year of activity as he builds himself back into contention for a World Title shot. The Heavyweight hopeful, from one of the most renowned fighting lineages, won the respect and admiration of fans when he challenged the likes of Heavyweight World Champion Joseph Parker, and seasoned operators in Kubrat Pulev and Alexandr Povetkin. The 29-year-old faces the explosive Christian Thun (9-1), who has won 7 of his 10 contests by KO in his third fight of the year as he vies to follow in the footsteps of his cousin Tyson Fury and win the Heavyweight crown.
Former IBO World Champion Maxi Hughes (26-7-2) returns to action as he aims to become a two time world champion following his loss to George Kambosos Jr (21-3) in a 6 round contest against ‘The Greek God’ Efstathios Antonas (7-2-2). The 34-year-old intends to deliver a dominant performance for DAZN subscribers to prove why he still belongs at the pinnacle of the sport.
GBM Star-signing Shakiel Thompson (12-0) defends his IBF European and WBO Global Middleweight crowns against the tough River Wilson-Bent (17-4-2) who has previously faced the likes of Hamzah Sheeraz, Tyler Denny, Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams as he aims to assert himself as the number one middleweight in Britain, as he looks to come through this potential banana skin and push on towards major titles.
