IBF Welcomes Ra'eese Aleem vs Sam Goodman Final Eliminator

Ra'eese Aleem (20-0 12KOs) will finally get his opportunity to become a World Champion. The IBF has accepted a final eliminator at Super Bantamweight for Aleem to face Australia's Sam Goodman (14-0 7KO's). The tentative date is June 8th in Australia. The winner will become the IBF mandatory challenger for newly crowned Unified Champion Marlon Tapales.

Aleem 32, is considered one the best boxers without a World Title. Title opportunities has eluded the Michigan native up until this point. In late March, the WBC ordered a purse bid for Aleem to face Mexican contender David Picasso. Zanfer Promotions, Picasso's Promoter won the the purse bid but has failed to provide a date and venue to host the fight. This opened up the IBF route for Aleem.

Goodman 24, a fan favorite in Australia accepted the challenge against Aleem after Luis Nery turned down the IBF's invitation. In his last fight, Goodman defeated former World Champion T.J. Doheny by a wide unanimous decision on the undercard of Tim Tszyu vs Tony Harrison March 12. Goodman and Tszyu are both promoted by No Limit Boxing.

If everything goes to plan contractually, Aleem-Goodman tentatively will be the co-feature for Tszyu's stay busy fight. Stay tuned for official announcements.
