Ryan Garcia Hires Derrick James as his Head Trainer

Ryan Garcia (23-1 19KOs) just fought in the biggest boxing event of the year vs Superstar Gervonta Davis less than a month ago. Now Garcia has decided to hired the multiple time trainer of the year Derrick James as his head trainer.


The aftermath of the Davis fight was ugly with mole conspiracies in the camp and lack of support at the post fight press conference. Davis stopped Garcia by TKO in the 7th round with a well place body shot. The Davis-Garcia PPV event did over a million buys.


This will be Garcia 24, third trainer in 3 years. Well known trainers Eddy Reynoso and Joe Goosen preceded James.


James 51, is the highly decorated trainer from Dallas, Texas has a small but great stable of fighters.


Derrick James Current Stable:


-Errol Spence (28-0 22KOs) the Unifed Welterweight Champion IBF, WBC, WBA.


-Jermell Charlo (35-1 19KOs) the Undisputed Super Welterweight Champion, WBC, IBF, WBA, WBO.


-Anthony Joshua (25-3 22KOs) the former two time Unified Heavyweight Champion.


-Frank Martin (17-0 12KOs) Lightweight Contender, Ranked WBA#2, WBC#6, IBF#6, WBO#7.


Garcia will campaign at Super Lightweight now. He is ranked, WBO#6, WBA#7, WBC#8, IBF#13. Fight news for Garcia is currently being worked on by his promoter Golden Boy Promotions.
